Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of PomoFriends — with or without an account. By using the app you agree to them.
1. What PomoFriends is
PomoFriends is a Pomodoro-style focus timer with optional social features: shared focus rooms, chat between sessions, tasks, streaks, statistics and leaderboards. You can use the core timer and tasks without an account ("anonymous mode" — your data stays in your browser), or create an account to join rooms and sync your data across devices.
2. Your account
You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe. You must provide a working email address to register. You can delete your account at any time from your profile page; this permanently removes your profile, tasks, sessions, settings and stats from our systems. Accounts are personal — don't share credentials or impersonate others.
3. Acceptable use
Don't harass or abuse other users, post slurs or hateful content, spam chat, attempt to disrupt rooms or timers that aren't yours, probe or attack the service, or use automation to inflate stats or leaderboards. Members can report others for these violations; our staff review reports and can mute, kick or ban accordingly, and room admins can also mute or remove members directly. We may restrict or terminate accounts that break these rules.
4. Your content
Chat messages, room names, task names and support posts you create remain yours. By posting them you give us the limited license needed to store and display them to the people they're meant for (e.g. your room's members, or support readers). We don't sell your content or use it for advertising.
5. Free service & future paid features
PomoFriends is currently free. Some features in the interface are marked as part of "PomoFriends Plus" — a paid tier that is not yet available. Nothing is for sale today, and no payment is collected. When Plus launches, it will have its own pricing and terms, and anything you could do for free before will not silently move behind it without notice.
6. Availability & changes
PomoFriends is a small, evolving product provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Features may change, break or be removed; rooms that everyone abandons are cleaned up automatically. We do our best to keep your data safe but can't guarantee uninterrupted service or zero data loss — anonymous-mode data in particular lives only in your browser and can be lost by clearing it.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PomoFriends and its creator are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim — which, while the service is free, is zero.
8. Termination
You can stop using PomoFriends or delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse other users, or attack the service — with notice where reasonable, immediately where necessary.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Meaningful changes will be announced in the app (the banner at the top) with the date above updated. Continuing to use PomoFriends after a change means you accept the updated terms.
